Milan Fashion Week Spring 2011 RTW Wrap Up
In the case of Milan Spring Fashion Week, it’s difficult to know where to look first. Black stormed the runways in various shows including Bottega Veneta, Dolce & Gabbana, Emilio Pucci, Giorgio Armani, Gucci and Prada among others. Brights also took the stage in Blumarine, D&G, Jil Sander, Moschino Cheap & Chic and MaxMara. Prints were explored [although not as widely as at London Fashion Week] with animal prints taking off at Blumarine and Roberto Cavalli whilst Missoni explored its usual array of wavering lines and Moshchino mixed stripes and polka dots. Plaids and tartans also made their mark at Jil Sander and Versus and D&G and Moschino Cheap & Chic supplied the florals for spring. Khaki shades were shown at Etro and Gianfranco Ferré and ruffles were fitted to maxi dresses at D&G and on minis at Marni. Belted waists centered outfits at Fendi and Emporio Armani and billowing trains accentuated dresses at Blumarine and Emilio Pucci. Magnificent Milan.
